CPUScaler Installation directions.

Please read the entire instructions before attempting install.

You must uninstall all cpu related patches/kernels/scripts etc..

Determine if you want to stick to 125--600mhz or move up to 125--800mhz.  if you want 125--800mhz you will need to download a compatible kernel.  A suggested kernel ilk is below for WebOS 1.4.0.  If your fine with 125--600mhz then stick with the default Palm kernel thats already on your phone. 

the correct order of installation is:

unixpsycho/caj2008 800mhz kernel ipk --------------------> kernel  (download here: l337tech.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/unixpsycho.l337techmod.800kernel_1.4.0_armv7.ipk )

com.l337tech.cpuscalerult_2.1.0_all.ipk      ------------> service

com.palm.l337tech.cpuscalerappultimate_2.1.0_all.ipk ----> application

The CPUScalerUltimate application versions 2.1.0 and later have a filename that starts with com.palm...  This was necesary to enable reading the battery temperature.  I have no affiliation with Palm and Palm did not build/contribute/help with this app.
To select the current version, simply mouse over each file and read in the bottom left hand of your browser the full file names.

You need to download each ipk first.  Use WOSQI (WebOS Quick Install) to install each ipk individually.  DO NOT INSTALL AT THE SAME TIME!

If you decide to install the 125--800mhz kernel then expect to get a "mount error" towards the end of installing the kernel with WOSQI.  This is perfectly normal, it's just your phone about to reboot.  Uninstallation completes without this error.  

Make sure your WOSQI and the WebOS Dr in its folder are up to date.

Once everything is installed open the app CPUScalerUltimate on your phone and go to the "stats" section to verify that it is reading your phone's cpu stats.

My recommended settings are:
scale 500-->600mhz
scale 500-->800mhz

The "Scale and Speed Off" option will put your cpu back to default settings which is 500mhz userspace.  It will also remove any "stick" settings that you previously applied.

Please not that some phones do not run well at 250mhz or lower.  Freezing and other issues may occur at these speeds.  If you experience freezes simply keep your lowest frequency higher than 250mhz.  Make double sure that your phone works with the settings that you have applied before you select the "Make Settings Stick Button".

When you are ready to uninstall any of the three ipk's mentioned above, simply open WOSQI and go to "device management".  You will see CPUScalerUltimate listed and two services called:
"Service to run cpu scaling commands"
"service to install/uninstall 800mhz kernel"
Simply select the CPUScalerUltimate app and the two mentioned services and hit the "uninstall" button.
